The Bridge International Sponsors the Insurance Council of Australia’s 2024 Annual Dinner

The Bridge International, a boutique, non-traditional consulting practice, was the proud Platinum sponsor of the Insurance Council’s 2024 Annual Dinner. The event, held at the Art Gallery of NSW, brought together leaders from the Australian General Insurance industry for an evening of insightful discussions. The sponsorship marks an important milestone for the business co-founded 7 years ago by Stuart Blake and David McDonald who attended along with other members of the team. 


Sara Elmstrom, Partner at The Bridge International, addressed the attendees, sharing insights from the collective team’s experience in the industry. "Our team is passionate about what insurance stands for at its core – protecting people, businesses, and communities, and being there when it matters most," Sara said. 


Sara highlighted the challenges facing the industry, including climate change, geopolitical fragmentation, economic pressures, the emergence and acceleration of tech like AI, cybersecurity, and an aging population and how this has created the perfect storm

Sara reflected how the increasing cost of capital for insurers, affordability and the protection gap, the changing regulatory landscape, supply chain issues, and the fight for talent affects all aspects of the value chain putting pressure on traditional models to evolve and deliver results.


The event featured a conversation about the general insurance industry in Australia with The Honourable Stephen Jones MP, Assistant Treasurer and Minister for Financial Services, Nick Hawkins, ICA President and IAG’s Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, and Kylie Macfarlane, the Insurance Council’s Chief Operating Officer and Andrew Hall, CEO of the ICA also shared his insightful reflections on the sector.
